Hey guys, as some of you know, there is going to be another spawn. This spawn is called “south side spawn” and there is going to be a fun building competition happening there. It has been decided that the “theme” for the build is going to be Modern. Some have expressed concern that “Modern” is not fun to build, so I wanted to share a cool website that I go to from time to time to get inspiration for builds and a lot of the places on there are Modern and very cool. And imo there isnt any problem building modern in defaut 😛 Earth is right quarz but before there was quarz you made modern stuff with white wool so there is allways a way 😉

Speaking of Keralis, watching any of his Let’s Builds is great, too, especially the ones where he just builds on the fly. Gives you a good idea of shapes, spacing, flow, and all that fun stuff.

I was asking about good modern builds that have been posted. They are always posted in modern style texture packs. I never see any in default. I know quartz is a good default block for modern style, but I’m curious of a full build done and posted in default. I NEVER see it. Anyway I was just curious.

Once its all laid out I will give a few days so people can figure out what size plot they want and what materials they’ll need. And, yea, its not a race. I think a month would be plenty of time, but if more time is needed I may add an extra week. The judging will be done by new players joining the server. I will give them three votes on the one(s) they like the most. The length of time for the judging will take some time.

I have a question and concern. Having 2 size plots is nice because it gives variety in the spawn. My concern however is that the big plots will ALWAYS have more detail in them and have more of an impact as a whole. So my question is… Will they be judged separately and have a small plot winner and a big plot winner? If not I just feel like the big ones will win every time.

And by the way what do you win exactly?
