Well a bit of an update on this.

So i got a msi z97 gaming 7 motherboard (because i didnt need the wifi as ill just get a wireless card since its cheaper)
I am also, instead of getting the 2TB, im going to get the 3TB since its only a $10 difference.
and with the CPU, they didnt have any 4770k’s in stock at the time and apparently they arnt making them anymore. So instead i went for the 4790k so its even better 😉
Gunna get the white RAM sticks instead, since the stock fans are white. And ill be doing my own Vinyl design to the case. most likely will be white, red and black themed to go with everything else in the case. (also going to fill the inside rim of the case with black light, and get fluro Red tubing for the cooling to make it stand out! 😀

So far what i have is, the case, CPU, motherboard and power. Booted it so far, and it looks gorgeous already. This weekend (28/02/15), ill be buying the rest! Goodbye $2500 😛

Whats next?
Well since ill start recording, ill need to upgrade my mic, was thinking blue snowball.. any suggestions?
Also, suggestions on recording software would be great! 🙂 (not fraps.. too large of file size and drops the fps by about 40%)

Thanks for reading! 🙂

I’ve been told the blue snowball is a great start. I use headset though and run my audio through a few filters to make it more clean.

Dxtory is great for recording games. It wont record the desktop though. But what it does is tell you your FPS and your writing FPS so you can actually tell if disk contention is preventing your videos from getting the FPS you want. It also has options where you can record one video to multiple drives which is A+. I wish I could have bought 2 extra SSD drives for my computer so that I could play on the main drive and use the 2 extra for parallel recording.

Good luck with your machine!

Thank you. Not 100% sure about dctory. I have tried it previously, and wasnt sure about it.. Ive checked out OBS, and that seems good, but ill most likely be using that if im doing a webcam video, or streaming. Then for just normal recording, ill use shadowplay. Since ive heard great things about it and only takes away about 1-5% fps. But ill let you know how i go with all this.

And i also have another thing in mind, was gunna get an external capture card, and another 250GB ssd to record too for the least amount of fps drop with the highest quality. But that will cost a bit more haha. We shall see!
