Sooooo just found this article from Mojang. It came out today. They are gonna be allowing players to change their names ingame every 30 days.

I’ve never liked my name so I’ll probably jump at the opportunity to change it. Though I won’t do it unless I know for sure that nothing will be effected. (Like not being whitelisted or not having access to my own claims)

GriefPrevention already updated to include the new UUID system. You shouldn’t have a problem with claims or the whitelist (according to Mojang). I wouldn’t worry about it too much.
