good point, Switch. The cows can be bred every 5 minutes, and it takes 20 minutes for them to grow up. The wheat farm is probably too small, though. maybe it could send wheat and sugarcane to the end automatically from spawn chunks, which might be possible with some delivery carts in the nether. The cow farm would have to stay at the end so that whoever crafts books with the ingredients can replenish the leather supply. That would be a lot of work for a simple thing, but I would enjoy building this kind of system if anyone would use it.

Well, since nobody seems to be all that interested in this, I guess I’ll just bring a bunch of books to the end.

I’d be quite interested in something like this, or at the very least an automatic supply of food for the end farm, as long as they can be made to fit in with what qtree has already built (or even better, hidden).

Don’t be discouraged from doing this! Not a whole lot of people share their opinions on the forum. I say go for it!

My biggest concern was just appearance really. If it doesn’t effect the rates and you could hide it maybe up above the farm on either the left or right side (Ladder access) then I really have no problem with it. I still don’t think it is needed at all, but if you want a project and wanna help people out, go for it man.

Alright I’ll build it then, unless 50 hoppers, 50 hopper minecarts, and 32 cows cause too much lag or something.

The cows are no problem as long as they have space to move, and you can minimize the lag on your hoppers fairly easily as well. You might want to consider a pseudo-automatic solution instead of using the hopper carts though, no idea how that system will cope with constant loading/unloading, and it certainly bumps up the lag potential.

Egill, I’m not sure if you’ve started this project yet or not. But I have a suggestion. Build this within 60 blocks of the end portal and I can set the world to keep its spawn chunks for The End into memory. This way things will grow continuously. This will also require a little science to prove it’ll even work… 😀
